Frozen yogurt banana pops

Frozen Yogurt Banana Pops are a delicious treat for kids and a great way to use ripe bananas!

The best way to make frozen yogurt banana pops

The instructions sounded so simple. Stick the popsicle into the banana. Dip the banana in flavored yogurt. Freeze.

The first time I did this, I did just that. I dived, banana fell off the stick, into my bowl. I plunged again, yogurt wouldn’t stick to the banana. So instead, I spooned the yogurt onto the banana while the banana lay helpless on my paper plate.

We found this to be a much better way to make these frozen banana pops:

Peel your bananas and cut them into two or three pieces depending on the size of your banana. Put a popsicle in a banana. Place the bananas on a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper. FREEZE. Once your bananas are frozen, dip them in yogurt and roll your toppings in. Lie on the same tray you used to freeze the bananas and refreeze them.

What is the best type of yogurt?

There are so many types of yogurt and sometimes it is hard to know which is the best type to buy. These are some things to consider when choosing yogurt.

Ingredient list: Try to choose a yogurt with few ingredients. The ingredients that should be included are milk and bacterial cultures. All other ingredients are added to improve taste and texture and are not strictly necessary. Added sugar: Yogurt naturally contains some sugar in the form of lactose. However, food companies often add large amounts of sugar to make yogurt taste sweeter. To choose a healthy yogurt, choose the brands with the least amount of sugar per serving. The closer you get to 10-15 grams of carbohydrates per cup, the better. Fat content: Yogurt can be made from whole milk, low-fat, or non-fat milk. While full-fat yogurt may have more calories than low-fat yogurt, it doesn’t necessarily make it a less healthy choice. Many low-fat yogurts replace the fat with sugar. Choose the fat content based on dietary habits, food preferences, and calorie goals.Living cultures: Probiotic bacteria are used to make yogurt by converting lactose into lactic acid, which gives yogurt its tart taste. These bacteria are called “live cultures”. Many health benefits have been shown from this. Many brands don’t put the probiotic content of their yogurt on the label because it’s expensive. An easy way to tell if the yogurt contains live cultures is to avoid yogurt, which is called “heat treated” after cultivation, as this process kills the bacteria. Greek yogurt: This type of yogurt is very popular, in large part because it contains twice as much protein as traditional yogurt and about half the carbohydrates. It’s also typically thicker and tangier, and is a good choice.

Freeze for about an hour. Dip each banana in yogurt, then roll it in the toppings.
